JuJu Magic

It is 2010 & I am busily getting ready for my 1st gallery show of the year in Seattle at the Facere Jewelry Art Gallery.This is a precious little gem of a gallery, which just goes to show you that it isn't the size that counts but the quality. The show is called JuJu Magic & has inspired me to create this new work, & I think that 2010 is indeed going to be a magical year.

I am posting a few pix of 2 of the pieces I have created for this show. The model in the middle is my beautiful daughter, Meara. She is also the photographer & the designer of this blog!!

Christmas Eve

Here it is Christmas Eve. We finally got into the holiday spirit today as we cleaned the house made a wreath for the door & had our favorite people over for dinner. A good excuse to clean. The bathtub backed up of course Murphy's Law, & it looked like the sink was bubbling into the tub also. Ouy!! So Brad bucketed & cleaned it all out & no one will ever know. We will deal with it tomorrow, merry xmas!!. Our friends came & went we are all stuffed to the gills. & watching the end of "It's a Wonderful Life!!" Here is a pic of our front door.

Birds on Wheels

These Bird Necklaces are from a new series I am introducing this year. They are all one-of-a-kind, so no two are alike. I hand saw each of them, fabricating & texturing, using sterling silver for the bodies, 14-karat gold for the eyes, & the wheels are made from guitar string nuts & old pocketwatch parts. Prices vary from $75 to $250 depending on size and how elaborate it is.

Everyone asks me, "Why Chairs?"... Well I don't really know why. I just love them!!! The first chair was made because I was doing a gallery show of my carved work & I wanted to put a "Pear on a Chair" because it rhymed, so I made one. And it evolved from there.
