San Antonio or Bust

the wild flowers this year are outrageous!! Pale yellows with lavender lupin scatter the highway mixed in with fields of intense yellows & orange poppies scatter through in the Arizona desert. Perfect weather so far. Will try to take some pics today as I drive from Benson,AZ to Janet's in San Antonio. Can't wait to get their already. A 12 hour drive & I loose 2 hours for the time change. It's 4am in Benson at the Days Inn. Time to get a move on....."angels on my bumpers...(thank you Glenda)

Hello Glenda: sun shines thru my kitchen window as I sit on the window seat with many pillows, am packing the car to drive to Houston tomorrow. Have changed the booth feeling to a Paris bistro, black gold, ochre & silver. with the wooden mahagony cases. I'll take a pic & send it. I am bringing a dressmakers torso that I collaged with old newspapers & painted a matte mottled black, have found some old ornate gold painted frames to stick on the panels too. Will know more of the new feeling when I set-up at Memorial park in Houston on Thursday. 1600 miles away. the INTRINSIC PASSION of mysterious JOY

I am Etsy Treasury obsessed right now. A treasury is a collection in Etsy that people put together for a few days. I just got up at 3am to do this last one. It is all about COLOR, & after working in metal which is neutral I find that I crave delicious colors. I started finding this collection by googling art related to Papaya, then it evolved once I found a few artists I liked. I had intended to include one of my pieces but like in creating a piece of art sometimes it doesn't want to be what you want it to be. The name came from one of my favorite albums by Loop Guru called Duniya.

Well, this treasury came & went & not enough people got to see these amazing artists so I am posting some of the pix on this blog. Until I can figure out how to do it in some organized way they are a bit scattered. Enjoy!!

Visualize Swirled Peas to Sunflower Sutra

I put together this fun treasury on Etsy of 12 different photos from 12 different venders. It's a way to curate a mini art show. Here are a few examples of the show. It's only up for 2 days, til Friday, the 19th. I actually thought of the title while reading the book Olive Kittredge. It made me laugh but gave me this great visual. Also, going at the same time is my sunflower pendant in another treasury. They are both so full of joy! *NOTE: The treasuries have already expired on Friday Feb 19th. But at least you can enjoy some of the pix....

almost Valentines....

Hearts Delight turned out to be a huge success. It was the best show I have ever had there. The people of San Diego came out in the pouring rain & were so appreciative to all of us. Despite the fact that it was Super Bowl Sunday, our customers came to visit & shop!! We drank Champagne & munched on treats. It was a rewarding inspired weekend. In the evening Moni & Stuart took me to a terrific mexican restaurant called Rancho, in the North Park area of San Diego. A very hip trendy neighborhood. Having this 1st wonderful show gives me hope for a abundant new year ahead. 2010 is already a success!! Here are some hearts that I put on etsy today.
